As part of its ongoing efforts to recognize musical excellence, and ensure music remains an indelible part of our culture, The Recording Academy®, joined with New York based producer and developer, Upsilon Ventures, to present GRAMMY Park® in Brooklyn in 2016.
The new, live four-day indoor/outdoor festival featured GRAMMY Award®-winning and nominated artists to celebrate musical diversity and excellence in music across genres and formats. With numerous performances at the newly renovated Kings Theatre and in Brooklyn’s Prospect Park, the festival attracted over 25,000 attendees.
The artists featured in the festival included: Toni Braxton, Ne-Yo, Robin Thicke, Aloe Blacc, Andra Day, Jazmine Sullivan, BeBe Winans, Hezekiah Walker, Ray Chew, Commodores, Jonathan Butler, Dianne Reeves, Kurt Elling, Cecile McLorin Salvant, Christian McBride Trio & Big Band, Terence Blanchard featuring the E-Collective, Monty Alexander-Harlem Kingston Express and the John Patitucci Electric Guitar Quartet.
